Andrea Gavazzi is an Italian-Brazilian cinematographer whose life has been a constant interplay of contrasts. Born In Sao Paulo, Brazil, he was split between the tranquil rhythm of a farm in Brazil and the relentless energy of Rome’s streets, his upbringing was a swirl of vibrant chaos. Through it all, cinema remained his anchor—a world he could escape to and make sense of the beautiful disarray around him.

Driven by a love for photography and a deep curiosity about the world, Andrea traveled extensively after high school. A year spent living in South East Asia had a major impact on his artistic vision, and it was there, immersed in a completely different culture, that he decided to move to the US and fully commit to filmmaking.

These rich, cross-cultural experiences laid the foundation for his love of cinematography and storytelling—where every frame captures not just a scene, but a piece of his journey. Fluent in English, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish, his multicultural background adds a special layer to his work, bringing a fresh, global perspective to everything he creates.

Now, with bases in both New York and LA, he shoots everything from narrative films to commercials and music videos, constantly moving and exploring new corners of the world.

Some of his most recent works include the Oscar-nominated short film A Lien (executive produced by Adam McKay), a feature documentary directed by Sandra Winther (executive produced by Darren Aronofsky), and the Sundance Film Festival-nominated short Susana. Each project is a testament to his unwavering commitment to storytelling and his ability to capture the heart of every story he tells.

At the core of his work lies a deep exploration of emotions and the search for universal human experiences—those raw, shared moments that connect us all, no matter where we come from. It's in these nuances that Andrea finds the true essence of his craft, blending art with the deeply human truths we all relate to.
